The Application for membership of Wikimedia Hong Kong is now open.
為方便申請人，臨時理事會的相關人員和義工將會巡迴各區，定點收集申請人遞交的表格，並將發出會員證予以資格已核准的會員。
In convenience of membership applicants, the Provisional Directory will provide a circuit service for membership recruitment. Provisional directors and volunteers will go to different locations in different parts of the territory, to receive the application forms & distribute membership cards to those whose membership was approved.
若你不能通過巡迴服務遞交申請，敬請聯絡協會秘書，以便安排特別服務。

關於協會
香港獲選為2006中文維基年會的 舉辦城市。為鄭重其事，熱心的香港維基人成立了2006中文維基年會籌備委員會香港工作小組，負責統籌有關舉辦年會所面臨的地區工作。在籌備工作同時，有關的香港工作小組組員意見認為，香港需成立一個維基人組織，以便協助香港工作小組進行籌備工作時所遇到的障礙，如通信地址，以非牟利組織身份募捐等。另一 方面，香港維基人認為，香港確實亦有需要成立本地維基社團，以便日後舉辦各種聯誼及推廣維基媒體和自由文化的活動。
Hong Kong was elected as the host city for the Chinese Wikimedia Conference 2006 which would held in August from 26 to 27, 2006. A committee was established to coordinate the preparation of the Conference. Wikimedia Hong Kong was registered as a Company Limited by guarantee and not having a share capital, under Chapter 32 Company Ordinance of Hong Kong for administration & financial reasons. After the registration, the committee will hold an official address for corespondent. It will also allow the committee to officially receive donation from groups and individuals. On the other hand, it will also facilitate a platform for future activities and events among fellow Wikimedians in Hong Kong, to promote the Wikimedia and the Free Culture.
